SafetyWing's research indicates that the pandemic was the main reason for this change was the pandemic.

Today, over 66% of digital nomads are employed full time by a company. Many countries are coming out with digital nomad visas. Mauritius is no different.

Nestled in the Indian ocean, there's simply no better place to be a digital nomad. Mauritius is a hidden gem that is quieter than top destinations for digital nomads, but doesn't lack in scenery or culture either.

With white sandy beaches along the Indian Ocean, incredible biodiversity, tropical lagoons, and endless natural beauty, Mauritius is an amazing island nation to explore, live, and work in. Want to surf in the morning, work, and unwind to unforgettable sunsets? Look no further!

In addition to all of this, the island is home to a diverse and vibrant culture. While it's known for luxury travel, Mauritius is a melting pot of cultures and religions. You can find Tamil, Creole, Bhojpuri, Chinese, European, and Franco-Mauritian influences in food, music, art, and dance.

While the official language is English, Mauritians typically speak French, Creole, and English.

This makes it easy to get around. Furthermore, there are coworking spaces and good internet access for digital nomads who want to relocate to Mauritius.
